The standard flush toilets have been serving the world for more than 100 years. Composting Toilets

Also known as waterless toilets, as they use little to almost no water. Even though the idea of having a waterless toilet seems quite uncomfortable due to the hygiene factors, they are in fact very hygienic and easy to maintain.
They are normally electric or non-electric and are available in a wide-range of sizes and price ranges. This kind off eco friendly toilets makes efficient use of the generated waste, while using having minimum water requirements. However, they do require a ventilation system that cannot be installed to your available plumbing settings.

Squat Toilets

Used on a wide scale in the eastern part of the world, they are installed on the ground surface and works similarly to a modern flush toilet. Once the user is done with the toilet, they simply need to pour a little amount of water in the ground bowl to remove the waste. The waste is eliminated through the available hole at the end of the bowl and into the sewer.

Moreover, this kind of eco friendly toilet is considered to be more hygienic than the modern toilet as there is no zero contact with the toilet. It uses a much lesser amount of water as compared to a modern toilet, is cheaper and also very easy to clean and maintain.

Dual Flush Toilets

This type of eco friendly toilet offers two different types of flushes, a 1.6L flush for all the solid wastes and other 2.3L for all the non-solid ones. Users can use the flush accordingly and in return save a large amount of water as well. Apart from saving water, they are also very affordable and more and more homes in Northern America are installing them.
