Renovation works can often get messy and end up costing a lot more than what you expected. Just moving the existing components around without any new additions will be pretty expensive. And if you are not prepared in enough, then you might easily overshoot your budget and end up spending a lot. Expanding the size of the bathroom and adding new components will further increase our budget. Here are a few things to keep in mind while planning out your budget:
Rewiring and plumbing
These will probably be the major expenses. If you are planning on changing the alignment of the washroom then a lot of pipeline changes need to be made. Also the existing wiring will not do if you are going to install new lighting fixtures like sconces or recessed can lighting.
Since these processes involve breaking a layer of the wall and then changing the setup. Hence this is the primary expenditure when you are renovating.
New equipment
Expenditure on new equipment depends on how strict you are on yourself while choosing. It’s important to balance between what you need and what you want while buying equipment. There are a lot of different products that you might get tempted into buying so managing your urges becomes important.
Labor charges.
If you have enough time in hand it is better to do a little bargaining with your contractor and also consulting a few others and get their quotes for the work. This will make you get the best value from your money. Also set a few rules on what parts of access are completely off limits to the workers, etc.
These will be the three main segments in your budget while planning. You can save a lot of money from the first section if your new plan can work with minimal wiring and pipeline changes. The second section completely depends on the price range of your choice and your urge to buy additional components. The third one will be more or less around the same price though bargaining will save you a little.
