Establishing a toilet system

What are Basement Toilet systems:-

A typical Basement toilet system primarily consists of macerating machine (a sewage machine for the purpose of reducing solid wastes to small pieces), drainage system, lavatory and a flush tank with a U bend system.

How to Establish: –

The establishment of Sewer line is critical in installing the basement toilets at the establishment. If the sewer lines are deep then the system makes use of gravity to flush the solid wastes else one has to use the macerating machine to remove the wastes. Thus, we describe a system using macerator.

To establish a basement system one should begin by establishing connectivity between macerator and lavatory drainage system. The discharge pipe has to be connected with drainpipe of the macerator. The connection between drainpipe and discharge pipe is secured usually through a stainless steel clamps. The assembly between discharge adapter onto outlet port and PVC vent pipe of Macerating machine to vent stack has to be done. The toilet position is to be marked and placed at appropriate places on the floor. Secure the position of the toilet on the floor through the bolts (Ideally through two brass screws). Finally the customer should connect water-supply line to the toilet and examine the flush toilet, shut-off valves and check for leaks.

Maintenance of the toilets:-

1.) Keep trap seal full, in order to prevent sewer gases leaking through the drainage system into one’s home? One should periodically keep pouring buckets of water down across the drainage system.

2.) Water meter must be checked frequently for water levels and the unnoticed leakages in the across the drainage system. The idle frequency for check should thrice a day (24 hours).

3.) Shock absorbers are deployed in order to check and control vibrations arising due to water hammering across the water pipe lines.

4.) Regularly check hoses for leakages, bulge and weaknesses, as there is possibility of deposits (including deposits of sand) and chemical activity in the system. The idle frequency should be monthly, but as the life increases the number of inspections per month should be increased. The hoses showing signs of weakness must be replaced at once.

5.) If heater or heating furnaces is used then it has to be insured that inflammable fuel and objects should be avoided in proximity as it may raise chances of fire accidents. Also, temperature has to be maintained at around 120o Fahrenheit of the water, in order to conserve energy.

6.) Finally, the septic tank to be inspected annually and pumped through every year to ensure the proper working of the system.
